First round of golf this year, and boy was it time!
After not playing golf for almost 4 months, mainly due to the bad winter weather we have had in New York and the surrounding areas it was great to finally to get out on the golf course and have a game.
Off the four of us trotted down to one of our regular places, Bunker Hill Golf Course – just 7 miles north of downtown Princeton for a nice couple of hours golfing. $20 gave us a full 18 and a chance to brush the cobwebs off after the long layoff.
The course was in better shape than I think we all thought it would be after being under several feet of snow for most of the winter, the greens were good and the fairways, were to be honest a little wet. No problem though as I was meaning to play this as a practice round.
Like last year on my first game out I played well, hitting some great second shots and wedges on to the green, second shots not being my strong point, I was more than happy with the way that went again.
The real surprise was my 3 wood! I’ve never really got used to hitting that, but this time I never missed a shot and as it turned out it was my best club by far, so got to be happy with that.
Now as long as this carries on I will be happy, last year after my first round of golf (the best round of golf all of 2010) I went wibble and had a really bad season, this year I am think positively.
So the first round of golf this year has started good, who’s for a round of golf this weekend?
